Summit day:

Gav calls in after reaching the just short of  the top of the world without oxygen... he turned back at the Hillary Step because of the number of people queuing to get on to the top. His eyesight is a bit shot though - suffering from loss of glasses yesterday.He sounds incredibly fit! It's so hard to believe he carried his own gear up without oxygen!!! Now he heads all the way down back to Base Camp hopefully and that will be a considerable achievement, to have summitted all the way from Camp 2 without stopping and to get all the way down again.
